Selected recent UK news items of more general interest: 

On 9 December the FRC published a consultation seeking views on the corporate reporting issues that the FRC should consider researching.

The latest issue of Ombudsman News deals with mental health issues for customers in financial services - debt, in particular.

On 5 December, the government published a new National Infrastructure and Construction Pipeline "setting out over £500 billion worth of planned private and public investment". They also published a supplement providing "more detail on the role that private funding and finance will play in delivering the pipeline of infrastructure and construction projects".
