Claire joined OAC in 2017 with 10 years' Life Actuary experience and five years' management experience.
Claire's actuarial career commenced as a student actuary at Britannia Life where she gained broad practical actuarial experience before moving to Abbey National, initially as part of the interdisciplinary team tasked with launching new products into the UK, Belgium, Germany and Hong Kong. Following this she moved to the International Product Development Team as their International Product Development Manager where she worked on product design and provided detailed product specifications to allow IT, Customer Services, Marketing and Actuarial to prepare for product launches, and then acted as product project manager and coordinated the work of the other departments to ensure successful launches.
Claire took some time away from the actuarial profession to raise her family (two girls) and later on worked part-time as an Assistant Examiner for the Faculty and Institue of Actuaries. Recently, Claire was keen to return to actuarial work and with our need for resource to oversee client valuations and make sure everything is getting done on time and in budget, we saw the opportunity with Claire's project management experience to aid this route back into the profession.
Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, reading, following her football team, Rangers, and scaring her children on roller coasters.
