  EIOPA has issued a consultation on the quantitative and qualitative aspects of reporting under Solvency II. The precise impact of these proposals is hard to quantify as they will vary for each insurance firm, but it is advised to understand their potential significance sooner rather than later and to respond to EIOPA with comments by 20/01/2012.   Insurance Consulting: Further delays by FSA on CP11/05 and on communications to with-profits policyholders

  At a seminar organised by The Actuarial Profession a speaker from the FSA stated that the Policy Statement relating to CP11/05, which had been expected in December, will not now appear before February 2012. The proposed consultation paper on communications to with-profits policyholders is likely to be delayed until the second half of 2012.

  Compliance Consulting: Consumer Protection and Marketing Authority is renamed to Financial Conduct Authority

  The Consumer Protection and Marketing Authority (CPMA), which is the working name for the new Conduct of Business regulator under the Government's "Twin Peaks" structure, is to be renamed. The name is to be the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). It has also been announced that the FCA will have the powers to ban products and also notify investors of upcoming enforcement action against firms.
