Appointing OAC
Upon an initial enquiry we always first check that there are no issues which may suggest a conflict.
We are prepared to undertake legally aided work. We will consider working to a fixed fee or to a limit, where this is appropriate. We are willing to provide a single joint expert where this is required. We do not carry out work on a contingency fee basis.
Should you wish to appoint an expert from OAC, please could you provide us with a signed copy of our Terms of Business together with your detailed instructions and copies of all of the relevant case papers.
On receipt of your instructions, OAC will, with your agreement, appoint a suitable expert and provide you with an estimate of the potential cost of the required services.
OAC will add the case papers onto a secure system. Should you require the original papers to be returned to you, please let us know.
If you require OAC to act in the capacity as single joint expert we shall require a signed copy of our Terms of Business from both parties together with details of who will be responsible for meeting our fees.
OAC may request an initial deposit before proceeding with any work.
Fees
Our charge-out rates for preparation of reports range from £135 to £325 per hour, with a major part of the work usually being carried out at a rate of £210 per hour. For appearance at Court and Tribunal hearings, the rate ranges from £210 to £325 per hour. Disbursements and VAT are payable in addition.
