Skilled Persons' Reports (S166)
From time to time, the FSA requires a firm to employ a skilled person to undertake work in accordance with Section 166 of the FSMA. Typically, this might happen when there is a concern that something might have gone seriously wrong. Under this process, the firm is required to contract with a skilled person to carry out the work specified by the FSA. The FSA have to be satisfied that the skilled person has the relevant breadth of experience to carry out the work required.
