Internal audit

Internal Audit is a term that covers a wide range of activities, but has a common theme in that it is a process that measures whether activities within an organisation are being carried out in accordance with laid down procedures, controls and standards.

Whilst OAC Actuaries and Consultants have developed a general approach to internal audits, each audit is tailored to the specific requirements of the client. We do not believe in a formulaic approach that does not maximise the benefit of the audit and the fee the client can afford. We offer:

  • prioritisation of areas of greatest risk to determine areas of the business to be audited;
  • agreement of audit scope with our client;
  • the agreement of audit objectives within the scope of the audit;
  • audit reports that not only explain our findings but recommend solutions to any issues we have uncovered; and
  • rolling programmes of audit that maximise the return on the firm's audit investment.
