Guaranteed annuity rates

The benefit of a valuable guarantee has sometimes been lost through inappropriate advice to transfer the policy value to buy an annuity or to a SIPP drawdown.

Sometimes the guarantee is restricted to a type of pension not required eg no spouse benefit or no increase in payment or from a date when retirement is not planned.
