About OAC Actuaries and Consultants
Our business
We are a professional financial services consultancy providing actuarial and financial modelling expertise to clients around the world. We provide a range of business offerings to meet the needs of our clients across the spectrum of financial services.
Insurance consulting
Actuarial advice and support to insurance firms including AFH and WPA appointments, reviewing actuary services, regulatory valuation, product development, and risk and capital management reviews. We use our highly developed financial modelling tool Mo.net® to help firms understand the nature of their business and the impact their development plans may have.
Financial modelling
Mo.net® is a highly flexible modelling tool exploiting the latest software and systems technology that is ideal for the most challenging of projection tasks, particularly around Solvency II. We license this software for use by insurance and pensions firms, as well as providing consultancy support to help clients get the most out of their financial models.
Compliance consulting
Advice to insurance firms and IFAs on regulatory matters, including business reviews, skilled persons’ reports, promotional material, and internal audit.
Interim resourcing
Providing insurance firms with individuals with the necessary knowledge and expertise to fulfil short, medium and long term in-house projects.
Outsourcing solutions
Calculation and end-to-end complaint management services including compliance, loss and redress assessments, decision and offer letters, and data for FSA reporting. We provide a wide range of individual financial calculations and analyses, including values of life interests and reversions, pensions on divorce, guaranteed annuity rates, and analysis of investment risk mismatch.
Expert witness
Acting in litigation and disciplinary proceedings where there are issues of an actuarial or regulatory nature.
Our clients include insurance companies, friendly societies, banks, building societies, pension schemes and their advisers, independent financial advisers, individuals, auditors, solicitors, and trade bodies.
Our ethos
Our ethos is “Relationship Driven Consulting”. This means we:
- seek long-term working relationships with all our actual and prospective clients;
- listen and understand their needs, and what their objectives are;
- help them reach an understanding of the issues and considerations facing them;
- guide them towards decisions, both strategic and tactical, that are appropriate for their responsibilities;
- communicate with them regularly and in a way that is clear and concise; and
- make available additional OAC offerings to their business where we feel our clients may benefit from them.
See oacplc.com/testimonials for feedback from our clients.
Our team
We employ technically skilled and professional staff who are able to undertake client assignments with the appropriate skill, care and diligence. OAC can also call upon specialist additional resource through its integrated contractor approach.
Our working environment
Our staff work in an award-winning teleworking environment supported by a highly developed electronic infrastructure. This approach enables us to employ leading expert knowledge and helps us provide a robust “big company” service without the equivalent overhead and cost penalties.
Our staff benefit from a much healthier work-life balance, while also making a major positive impact on environmental issues.
“Over the past 13 years, OAC has pioneered one of the country’s most impressive teleworking offices - not just in the financial services industry, but in any industry.”
- Panel of 22 business judges at the National eWell-Being Awards
If you already work with OAC you will almost certainly have discovered that proactive management of the feedback process is a key pillar of our ethos of relationship driven consulting. |
